Daimler Buses India marks its presence at the 7th Edition of Busworld 2016

Bangalore – Daimler India Commercial Vehicles displays Made-in-India BharatBenz buses at the Busworld, one of the biggest B2B bus and coach exhibition in the world, in Bangalore from November 10th to 12th, 2016. BharatBenz School Bus and Staff Bus were showcased at the event, and the Mercedes-Benz future bus as well other global brands of Daimler buses were brought alive on screens.

The BharatBenz Staff bus is an ultra- fuel efficient and cost effective mode for staff travel and offers unmatched efficiency on all kinds of terrain. The buses are built to perfection, requiring minimum maintenance and offers best in class reliability and durability. The buses have a unique patented aluminique profiles and aerodynamic design for strong structural stability. Safety being of prime concern on road; the front-engine bus features anti-lock braking system (ABS), front and rear anti-roll bars, fire retardant materials and strategically placed exits.

The school bus from BharatBenz, is designed specifically to ensure safety & comfort of school children. The bus is built with advanced safety features, child friendly interiors and best in class ride quality to guarantee secure and delightful journey. The aluminique body lowers the center of gravity that improves stability and boosts safety. The Anti-lock Braking System reduces the stopping distance to provide efficient braking. Optional features such as fog lamps, GPS facility, smoke detectors, fire alarm etc, can also be offered on request. The overall design of the bus is attractive with colour-coordinated interiors for a cheerful ride.

DICV at a Glance

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) is a 100% subsidiary of Daimler AG, Stuttgart, Germany. DICV is a full-fledged commercial vehicle player in the Indian market. It currently produces and sells above 9 to 49 tonnes trucks for the Indian volume market, under the brand BharatBenz. BharatBenz stands for Indian engineering with German DNA. Under its bus division, the company produces and sells BharatBenz buses and Mercedes-Benz buses from its manufacturing plant at Oragadam. BharatBenz products have been engineered to serve all major customer segments with a focus on total-cost-of ownership, safety, reliability and comfort. The DICV-built FUSO trucks from Oragadam are exported to markets in South East Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The state-of-the-art production plant at Oragadam, near Chennai, spreads over 400 acres (160 hectares). It includes a modern test track designed to simulate Indian conditions – making it one of its kinds in Asia. DICV has made an initial investment of 4,400cr and additional 425cr for the bus plant facility.
